Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

At this time, I’m unable to bill insurance. Some insurance policies reimburse counseling services. I can provide a superbill for these instances.

Do you have a cancellation fee?

Sessions that are cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the appointment time will incur a $50 cancellation fee. Exceptions will, of course, be made for tragic life events or emergencies. Any changes to scheduled sessions outside of the 24 hour window are acceptable.

What are your counseling fees?

My current standard counseling fee is $75 per 60min session. This includes all forms of counseling I offer (individual, minor, family, and couples counseling).

However, if these fees are a barrier for you, please reach out to me. I’m committed to making care accessible and would love to discuss how we might partner in doing so.

What is an intake session and how much does it cost?

A 60min virtual intake session is the first step for all new clients. It’s important to feel comfortable with your counselor, and this session gives us a chance to connect. Instead of an impersonal written intake form, this conversation allows me to gain a fuller understanding of what you're going through—things that can be hard to capture in writing. At the same time, you’ll get a sense of whether I’m the right fit to support you.

The virtual intake session fee is $50, which will be invoiced after the session.

Do you offer virtual or in-person counseling?

In-person: Through partnership with The Relationship Warehouse, I am able to meet in the Riverside office and Costa Mesa office.

Virtual: Nationwide (and beyond).

Clients can choose how they’d like to meet each time they schedule a session. Please note, in-person sessions in Riverside can only be scheduled on Thursdays. If you need to schedule a session in Riverside outside of Thursday, please reach out to me directly.

How do I book a session?

You can schedule online anytime through my Book now page. You’ll see my current availability and can reserve your spot instantly.

If your availability doesn’t line up with mine, please reach out to me directly.

Are you licensed?

My calling is in not as a licensed therapist but in a space where I can be unapologetically biblical—offering counsel that is anchored in Scripture and centered on a relationship with Christ. I hold a Master’s in Counseling Ministry from California Baptist University, accredited by the American Association of Christian Counselors. I have since been honored to teach a course as an adjunct professor for one semester in my masters program titled Relational Techniques of Counseling.

What is the difference between clinical therapy and Biblical counseling?

First, hear me when I say: both Biblical counseling and Christian clinical counseling have their place & are extremely valuable.

Clinical therapy is primarily founded on the behavioral sciences. While some Christina clinicians may incorporate faith into their practice, because they answer to the board of behavioral sciences, they can only mirror the degree of faith-integration that their client first exhibits. In addition, they are limited to a fiduciary relationship.

Biblical counseling - or Christian counseling - is primarily founded on Scripture and the personhood of Christ, while also incorporating some methods or theories psychology may offer. Not bound by the board of behavioral sciences, I can be unapologetic in my approach, believing that true hope and healing cannot be found apart from Christ. This also allows for a dual relationship - if appropriate - and partnership with church community when beneficial. In addition, the goal of clinical therapy can be limited to personal satisfaction, greater understanding, or modified behavior. I’m after something deeper; the heart. A greater understanding may be needed to get there. Modified behavior may result from a heart change. Often, greater fulfillment is found when more closely walking with and trusting in Jesus. But above all else, surrender to God, and pursuit of The Way, and faithfulness despite circumstance is the heart of Biblical counseling.
